Regina’s Art World Blog
As regular readers of my blog know, over the past few weeks, I have concentrated on the revitalization of the Brentler Heights waterfront district by developer and former architect David Greeley. — [1] —. By far, the most impressive result of this program is the renovation of a former industrial building on Paxton Street. The building’s first floor now houses a popular coffee shop and bookstore, and its beautifully landscaped gardens include creative metal sculptures. — [2] —. I am pleased to report that the second floor will be occupied by the Brentler Heights Gallery.
The gallery will be run by Francine Skandar, a Brentler Heights artist I met years ago at a jewelry-making workshop. I always admired her work, and I obtained many of her creations to sell at my shop. I was delighted to learn that she will be managing this high-profile gallery. On a media tour, Ms. Skandar highlighted how Mr. Greeley retained nearly all of the Paxton Street building’s original features to give it a vintage character. — [3] —. This makes it an ideal backdrop for all types of art.
The gallery’s inaugural exhibit will showcase Ms. Skandar’s work. — [4] —. The grand opening will occur on June 8 and 9 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. For more information, visit www.brentlerheightsgallery.org.

Liz Yuen (8:58 A.M.)
Hi, all. Thank you for your prompt feedback on the Web site content I sent out in the group e-mail. Everyone agrees that the photos and the accompanying content do not seem to market the calendars strongly enough.
Helen Black (8:59 A.M.)
Right. But, to confirm that we’re looking at the same material—there are several photos showing our desktop calendar each with the caption “The promise of a new year with a calendar from Stenmex Stationery.”
Liz Yuen (9:01 A.M.)
That’s correct. But the main problem is that the photos and the content that accompanies them need to be more engaging and interactive.
Jeff Spina (9:02 A.M.)
I agree. What if we ask customers to send us their written comments on how they use our calendars to help them organize their home offices? They could also send us a picture of their home office with our calendar in the image.
Helen Black (9:04 A.M.)
I’d be happy to share a photo of my own setup—from one of the days that I’m working from home. And I could write an explanation of how using the calendar helps me keep track of things. We could use that as an example for customers to follow.
Liz Yuen (9:05 A.M.)
Great idea. And what about the problems with the functionality of the Web site?
Jeff Spina (9:06 A.M.)
That would be great, Helen.
Helen Black (9:07 A.M.)
I saw those.
Jeff Spina (9:08 A.M.)
I’ll speak with Ryeo Jee about that. Her team should be able to get the pop-up window and social media links working again soon.
