Be Green Aware in Misford
March 26—The village of Misford will celebrate its annual Green Awareness Week in April. This event is coordinated by the village's Green Earth Committee and is part of a long-term effort to keep Misford green and clean.
The activities will start on Sunday, April 1, with a cleanup of the Misford Stream trails. Two teams of volunteers will work on either side of the stream to pick up any rubbish and clear the paths of fallen branches.
On Monday, residents are encouraged to walk along the trails and take photographs. The Green Earth Committee is accepting digital images and will select the ten best to post to the village Web site.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, residents who come to the village hall can pick up cloth bags to replace single-use plastic shopping bags, the sale of which will be banned in our county starting next month.
