PART III: READING
Read the following passage and choose the best answer to each question.
AN PHÚ: FROM A VILLAGE TO A SATELLITE TOWN
Ten years ago, An Phú was a quiet agricultural village with a population of approximately eight thousand. Most families grew rice or vegetables, and only a few small shops stood along the main road. Since then, the construction of a technology park and a ring road has transformed the area.
An Phú's population has increased to more than thirty thousand. Apartment buildings, supermarkets, restaurants and private schools have replaced many fields. The technology park has created new jobs, while the ring road allows workers to travel to the nearby city more quickly.
Urban development has increased local incomes and improved public services. The town now has a health centre, a larger secondary school and several bus routes. However, housing costs have risen, traffic has become heavier and the amount of agricultural land has declined. Some long-term residents also feel that the close relationships of the old village are gradually disappearing.
The local government has prepared a development plan to control future growth. It includes affordable housing, improved drainage and additional green spaces. Officials also intend to preserve the village's historic temple and traditional market. They hope these measures will allow An Phú to develop without completely losing its cultural identity.
